SWANA NIGHTS PRESENTS: NANOOS (USA)
Swana Nights is a fresh and vibrant club concept that celebrates the rich heritage and contemporary beats of Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA). Created by DJ and journalist Renaz, this event takes the audience on a sonic journey through the diverse sounds and genres of the SWANA region.
As a newcomer in Helsinki’s nightlife and part of the Random Nights club concept, Swana Nights blends classics, modern hits, and rare edits across genres like pop, dabke, techno, house, hip-hop, amapiano, afro, dancehall, and R&B. This innovative program offers an inclusive and soulful space, highlighting the often underappreciated sounds of the SWANA region.
Headlining the night is Nanoos, a Palestinian-Armenian DJ and producer from Detroit, now based in Chicago. Nanoos merges the rich and diverse sounds of the Levant and North Africa with genres like Ghettotech, Juke, Hip Hop, Jersey Club, UK Garage, Dancehall, and House. As the visionary co-founder of Go Baba! Worldwide, she creates inclusive spaces for Arab and SWANA communities to enjoy music while feeling safe, celebrating the fusion of Afro, Arab, and Caribbean rhythms with an irresistible invitation to dance.
Joining Nanoos in the DJ booth are Renaz, Trabelsi, and Yalla Collective, promising an unforgettable night filled with eclectic and high-energy performances.
Renaz Ebrahimi is a Kurdish-Finnish DJ, journalist, and the founder of the popular Random Nights and SWANA Nights club events. Her innovative mixes blend hip hop and R&B sounds with SWANA region influences, afrobeats, and amapiano, creating unforgettable nights of music and dance.
Meriam Trabelsi is a Tunisian-Finnish DJ and MC who explores her cultural heritage through music, remixing SWANA sounds and rhythms.
Yalla Collective brings dance-friendly electronic music and SWANA sounds to Helsinki’s party scene, connecting partygoers and dancers with vibrant Arab pop nights.
This is a celebration of cultural fusion and musical innovation – Swana Nights merges traditional roots with modern beats, offering a unique experience in Helsinki’s club scene!
